This rollover ( JavaScript required) shows what the model used by URS "hindcasted." Hindcasted means they run the model on a known example. In this case, they used data from 1955 and 1980 with 1955 serving as the initial point. If the model was correct, the two figures would be the same. As you can see from running your mouse over the graphic, the two end points are no where near the same. Bottom line, the model will not produce the same results as will be actually occur in the Bay. The two graphics are from the April, 2002 Technical Report. By the way, these particular graphics are not in the Final Technical Report. They have been changed and the new report uses contour lines that make the results much more difficult to see. So far as I can tell, the actual model wasn't changed between the reports, only the presentation of the results. But I would not say that for certain.
